The History of KidZ Choir
Starting almost nine years ago, Lynda created a non - denominational, Christian musical theatre program in Ottawa.
Focusing on making the musical theatre experience available to every family, she made the program her ministry by committing to keeping costs low and keeping the doors open to all.
After three successful years, she was thrilled to be able pass the Director's hat on to her student/co-Director and Parkdale KidZ Choir continues to this day.
With the help of two local Prescottonians (Christina Madden and Leslie Fournier) Lynda then began a second work here in Prescott, Ontario.
In 2014 PKC was excited to form a new partnership with the St. Lawrence Academy in Prescott (www.stlawrenceacademy.ca ) to offer a Summer Theatre Program for kids ages 6-15. It saw great success with almost 50 participants who learnt more about directing, costuming, acting and Christ's message of salvation. We were thrilled to raise over 2500$ in the past four years for local community programs. We have also recently forged a relationship with Youth For Christ in Prescott and are excited to have their support and encouragement. After 6 years and 12 successful productions, we will have some fun tackling harmonies with an original play based on Pentatonix sound and songs.
Continuing to build on these new partnerships, PKC will continue to be focussed on writing the Word of God on the hearts of local children and sharing the Gospel message with all who come to see the final Free productions. PKC's regular theatre program, which involves preparing two productions each year,is still FREE and welcomes any kids ages 6-16 to participate.
